THIS IS THE SPOT… where you send us your kids creation!

…below is the basic outline of how to go about sending us what you’ve dreamed up.

YOU’RE KIDS MADE A CREATURE AND THEY ARE READY TO SHARE IT!

• Wonderful… head down to “WHERE DO I SUBMIT MY CHILDS CREATION”

WE HAVEN’T MADE A CREATURE YET, WHERE DO WE START? WHAT DO WE SEND?

• A blank canvas can be fun or scary… depending on who you are, here at Capt. Kirkies and Friends, we like both fun and scary things, so embrace those feelings.

• I like to start with asking questions… So what I generally lean on when creating with kids, it is all here on this list of questions for “CREATING YOUR OWN CREATURE”- depending on the age - you may or may not get an answer to all the prompts. However I find, most kids find the answers somewhere along the way.

• Since your child will be creating it themselves, this is where the second part of the creative process comes in. Not all kids feel comfortable drawing, so I find it helpful to give them the tools they feel strongest using - of course with a few other options nearby in case they feel like exploring.

• Remember, this is not only limited to drawing.

WE DON’T HAVE A LOT OF ART SUPPLIES AT HOME!

• Thats totally ok, here are some ideas: cut out images from newspapers, pull out dry goods like pasta/beans from the pantry, leaves from outside, or branches - whatever you can find around you…the great thing is - you are not sending us your creation, so you don’t have to worry about it. As long as you can get a good photo, thats all we need.

WHAT IF MY KID HAS A MONSTER IDEA BUT IS UNABLE TO MAKE A PHYSICAL REPRESENTATION OF THEIR CREATION?

• Totally ok, we’d love to read about it… so please send a written or audio recording of their ideas! Who knows, maybe one of our friends who feels more comfortable drawing will want to bring their idea’s to visual life!

WHERE DO I SUBMIT MY CHILDS CREATION/CREATURE??

PLEASE SEND US AN EMAIL THROUGH THE FORM BELOW, OR YOU CAN EMAIL US HERE!

WHAT SHOULD I SAY IN THE EMAIL?

IN THE SUBJECT BOX, PLEASE WRITE “MY CREATION SUBMISSION FROM (INSERT YOUR CHILDS NAME)”

IN THE BODY OF YOUR EMAIL:

• The main thing we need in the body of your email is an explanation of what you are sending us. Wether its just a few ideas written down, a voice recording, or the list provided here filled out.. whatever you send us will end up going under the image on the website.

• Of course, if there is anything else you’d like to add, further explaining something, have question, etc… let us know.

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE MONSTER A MONTH?

• Yes, we take up to 5 a month to showcase on our ‘friends monsters’ instagram, or a maybe even featured on Capt. Kirkies page.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE WE SUBMIT OUR CREATION?

• Once you send us an email, with an image and explanation of your drawing, or just an explanation, we will double check to make sure everything we need is there. Once we make sure everything looks A-okay, we’ll post your creation on the FRIENDS MONSTERS PAGE, for you and everyone else to enjoy!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TILL YOUR IMAGES ARE POSTED ONLINE?

• Once you get your confirmation email that everything looks good, give us about a week (we’re a small crew) by then you should see it online.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOUR WONDERFUL IDEAS COME TO LIFE ON PAPER. REMEMBER, DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF, THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR IMAGINATION IS ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. GO CRAZY AND DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP.
